About Us

Our History:
Reformation Heritage Books was founded in 1994 with the purpose of distributing sound, Reformed, experiential literature, such as that which flourished in the Puritan Era (c. 1550-1700). Since 1994, the Lord has blessed our ministry and given us a faithful staff and able board of directors. There are many reasons why RHB has flourished in the past years. First, we acknowledge the Triune Sovereign God in granting our existence. Second, with this knowledge comes the inevitable responsibility of humbly relying upon His grace in diligent prayer on behalf of our ministry. As Thomas Goodwin once noted: “Those blessings are sweetest that are won with prayer and worn with thanks.” Third, we are blessed with many faithful customers and there are many who have donated to RHB’s cause.

Our first publication was the reprint of Robert Hawker’s The Poor Man’s Morning and Evening Portions in 1995. Since then we have published or reprinted approximately 150 titles. In 2008 RHB acquired the Soli Deo Gloria inventory from Ligonier Ministries which added another 120 titles to our list. As the Lord provides, we hope to continue to publish or reprint 24-30 new titles per year. In addition to the books RHB has published, we distribute another 3,000 titles from other Reformed and Puritan publishers from around the world. We offer edifying Puritan and Reformed books for children through adult, for the new believer and for the pastor or scholar. All proceeds from the sale of these books are returned to the fund for the publication of Reformed materials. Donations for this cause are deeply appreciated.

Reformation Heritage Books
Reformation Heritage Books (RHB) is a publisher and bookseller whose mission is, by the Spirit’s grace, to aim for the conversion of unbelievers and equip the saints to serve Christ and His church through biblical, experiential, and practical ministry, via books, tracts, and other resources. RHB aims that reading material be God-glorifying and be in accord with the Scriptures and historic Reformed creeds for the promotion and defense of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We believe that this purpose is well-served by providing instruction and training that develops knowledge and skills as well as the personal piety and Christian character that is essential for a faithful and growing life in Christ.

We are committed to the conviction that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as originally written are God’s inerrant Word inspired by His Spirit and therefore are the only, sufficient, and infallible authority for faith and practice.

Foundational to the mission of RHB is its identity as a confessionally Reformed publisher. Each book we publish, or carry from another publisher, subscribes to, or is judged according to the cardinal doctrines of the Christian faith as expressed in the Ecumenical Creeds and the teaching of the Reformed faith as expressed in the Three Forms of Unity (The Belgic Confession, the Heidelberg Catechism, and the Canons of Dort) and the Westminster Standards.

Soli Deo Gloria
Soli Deo Gloria Publications began publishing works from the English and American Puritans in the 1980’s and has reprinted more than 250 different titles since that time. It is our goal to reprint as many works as we can by these godly preachers of the Word.

Soli Deo Gloria (Latin for “glory to God alone”) is especially committed to bringing back into print books that have been unavailable for centuries. We re-typeset these books from their original format, slightly modernize the spelling, grammar, and formatting (no abridging), trying to make the books more accessible and readable.

In February 2008, Reformation Heritage books acquired Soli Deo Gloria from Ligonier Ministries. We will continue to retain the SDG imprint as an academic division of RHB that will publish Puritan titles. Under the leadership of Dr. Joel R. Beeke, RHB will continue to advance the original goals and vision founded under the guidance of Dr. Don Kistler—namely, to promote the Puritan and ultimately biblical ideal that man’s chief and ultimate end is to Glorify God alone. Through doctrine promoting genuine piety, we pray that the world will see Christ’s people as a city upon a hill.
